A devoted Pan Africanist, Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah, has urged his colleagues Pan Africanists to do everything possible to prevent a situation whereby the Western media take over Pan Africanism.
At a meeting with a group of young Pan Africanists in the diaspora at Geneva- Switzerland, Mr. Yeboah noted that there is an emerging trend in which the Western media either dedicate columns in, or even establish extensions of their media outlets to tell the African story.
“Today, they are everywhere in Africa making documentaries and writing about our heroes and about our stories. On the surface, this may look good for our course, but inherently, their agenda may be detrimental to what our past queens and kinds stood for on our behalf.”
They are not there for any good intent, except to distort our history and negatively influence the mind-sets of our people against our interests. …The African story must be written and be told by the Africans, he added.
Additionally, Kwadwo Yeboah call for continuous cooperation among Africans and all Black people, particularly, those working in the Pan Africanism arena.
“No single individual or entity can do it alone and win for all of us. Until we begin to accumulate and join our efforts and resources, we may not fully accomplish what we are all looking forward to”
